Description: We are looking for an experienced Automotive Service Technician. This candidate will be responsible for performing, vehicle diagnostics, vehicle repair and maintenance and work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. An experienced Technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.
Minimum 4+ years general mechanical experience in an established dealership. Must have training and experience with computer diagnosis systems, scanners, etc. Strong background in diagnosing, especially electrical systems. Experience on Land Rover and BMW vehicles.
Fully understand the shop procedures and able to complete comprehensive paper work. Clean Driver's Record (need DMV print out of driving records to apply) must be a self-starter who learns quickly, has a strong work ethic and who works well with others.
Must have a positive attitude; be able to work fast and thorough without errors, and takes pride in their work. Duties: Receive Repair Orders from service advisor and take vehicle to stall areas. Perform work as outlined on Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory standards.
Communicate with the shop assistant to obtain needed parts. Inform shop manager or shop assistant if vehicle is down awaiting parts.
Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Inform Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair, if authorized by the customer. Document work performed on each vehicle on the Repair Order using the concern, cause and correction format. State repair diagnosis/description as clearly as possible. Road test vehicles to quality check work performed as required.
Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.
Maintain the workspace assigned in an organized and clean manner. Produce quality work that displays pride of workmanship.
Will be performing:
Oil changes, General & Safety Inspections, diagnosing electrical, fuel injection, etc. systems & routine services. Perform major and minor repairs on engines, cooling systems, electrical systems, suspension, hydraulics, brakes, steering, drive train, etc.
Must have your own tools.
ASE certified a plus BMW experience is a plus Must have good references
